I'm lost... can someone catch me up please? and personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with having both Christian and secular music, just as long as the latter doesn't conflict with your faith, you're all good!

anyways, Daniel has a point. as a band of Christians, you guys need to glorify God in everything that you say and do, and you need to follow God instead of using Relien K as an example (even though they are really good)

I think what Relient K is doing is totally awesome! They get to the secular world, they love them, then they hear all thier songs and theyr'e like DANG who is the God and then they get to hear about Jesus! Yep, I had no idea that they were a Christian band until a year after I heard of them.

There's another band who's reaching out to punks. They're a Christian punk band. It's so awesome! They love Jesus, but they're trying to show him to those who don't necessarily know or want to hear of Jesus. Like Marino, not saying he doesn't love Jesus, cause he does, but he likes a heavy metal Christian band. Just because of their appearance, doesn't mean they don't love Jesus. and since i'm arguing with McGowan, let me mention the band "Firelight" you posted. I'm picking up a emo vibe from them, wow, retro much? but McGowan says they're a Christian band. Therefore, their songs would be secular, would they not? Secular songs from an emo Christian band.

sha there dont have secular music at all they r a completely christian band except where is the love we had before which is kinda secular but not really so sha ur wrong about fireflight (no space) and that post made no sense and they dont have secular songs

It makes no sense to you because I'm speaking from a high school standpoint. If it has a secular sound and appearance, it might be taken as secular by the secular people! Therefore making a Christian band secular! If the people they're trying to reach are secular, and that's what they believe, that's what they are!

Anyways, Christian bands don't play secular songs, rather, the songs and the bands that you are mentioning are Christian; however, they play in a specific genre that is appealing to non-Christians

Take Fireflight. They sing Christian songs like unbreakable; however the genre, not the song, is overwhelmingly secular

Same thing with Fanatic (lecrae). The song genre is hip hop; however, the song itself is Christian.
